This world would be a much better place if we had more people like you! I hope you can realize your dreams. You may want to ask a local university if they have research you can help with, volunteer at the animal shelter (dangerous, because you may not be able to turn away from all those soulful eyes!), or take volunteer cruises where the price is much reduced because you contribute your time and expertise during the tour/cruise to help work on things they need.
